Red Amethyst Cutbase – 5.5 cm, 106 g – Extremely rare crystal rarity from Uruguay ❤️
This rare red amethyst cutbase from Uruguay captivates with its deep red color and fine, sparkling crystal structure. The surface shows countless miniature points – also known as “sugary” – that glitter especially finely in the light. A naturally grown amethyst, personally selected by me on site in Artigas, carefully and with much heart brought to Switzerland.
🌋 Formation – millions of years of crystal growth
Amethyst forms through slow cooling of mineral-rich solutions in volcanic cavities. Its intense violet color is due to the iron content in quartz. When this is influenced by additional hematite deposits (iron oxide), a deep, reddish hue arises under optimal conditions – a geological rarity possible only in a few regions worldwide.
🔴 Why red?
The red coloring is not a post-treatment but a natural phenomenon. Fine hematite was deposited during crystal growth or finely laid over the crystals – thus this characteristic shade arises, clearly different from the classic violet. Red amethyst from Uruguay is extremely rare and especially valued by collectors and connoisseurs.
✨ Structure & quality
The surface of this crystal is covered with countless clearly formed micro-points. This “sugary” structure arises through particularly slow growth – a clear sign of quality. The cutbase is flat-cut and stands stable, ideal for a tasteful display.
💫 Effect (energetic):
