💡 What does fluorescence mean in crystals?

Fluorescence is a physical effect where a material emits a visible glowing color under ultraviolet light (UV light). In the world of crystals, this glow arises from certain trace elements or inclusions in the crystal lattice that react to UV radiation.

Depending on the chemical composition, the crystal can glow whitish, violet, yellow, or even greenish – always depending on the minerals contained.

🌞 Fluorescent Citrine in Ametrine – a rare natural process

My current Ametrine Phantom Points from Brazil are a rarity: They consist of Citrine and Amethyst united in a single crystal. In some of these points, delicate citrine zones appear that fluoresce clearly under UV light.

This phenomenon is extremely rare and only possible if certain conditions prevailed in the earth during the crystal’s growth – such as temperature changes, trace elements like aluminium or iron, and precise geological processes that lasted millions of years.

The glowing zones in the citrine area appear under UV light almost like liquid light – an effect that cannot be seen with the naked eye in daylight.

🟣 What is Ametrine?

Ametrine is a natural combination of Amethyst (violet) and Citrine (yellow-golden). The color separation arises from different oxidation states of iron in the crystal lattice. Ametrine belongs to the quartz family and is found in this purity only in very few places worldwide – especially in Brazil and Bolivia.

The phantom structures inside these crystals make each piece a energetically deep, multi-layered unique item that can be used in meditation and space clearing – or simply admired for its beauty.

I personally select all my crystals on site – directly in the mines of Brazil, in close contact with the local miners. My ametrine points come from ethical sourcing, the extraction is carried out with respect for nature and people, and for special finds, the miners receive additional compensation.
