A Geological Masterpiece: Phantom Structure, Ametrine Zones & Rare Hollandite

This extraordinary natural unique piece is a phantom amethyst with ametrine and rare hollandite inclusions – a crystal of absolute museum quality. Such specimens form only under extremely special geological conditions and are among the rarest occurrences in the quartz family.

Size: 7.3cm

Phantom Structure – Visible Time in the Crystal

The clearly visible phantoms inside show earlier growth phases of the crystal. They form when crystal growth repeatedly stops and starts again over long periods. Each phantom layer is like a frozen moment – a visible testimony of millions of years of Earth’s history.

Ametrine – The Rare Combination of Two Energies

Ametrine combines amethyst (violet) and citrine (golden yellow) in a single crystal. This natural combination occurs only when very fine changes in temperature and iron oxidation happen during growth.

Ametrine is considered extremely rare, especially in clear, natural form and combined with phantom structures.

Hollandite Inclusions – Extremely Rare Mineral Witnesses

The hollandite inclusions visible in the crystal are needle- or star-shaped mineral structures from the manganese oxide group. Hollandite is extremely rare in quartz and forms only under very specific pressure and temperature conditions.

Such inclusions are not decorative in the classic sense – they are geologically highly significant. Crystals with clearly identifiable hollandites are considered scientifically and collector-wise exceptionally valuable and are often found only in museum or top private collections.
