Celestine forms over many millions of years in sedimentary rocks. Through slow chemical reactions with strontium-rich solutions, crystal cavities develop inside these rocks, where celestine crystals settle and grow very slowly – often over periods of 20 to 80 million years. The especially clear points require stable, quiet conditions over very long times. ⏳🌍
