Formation

Phantom amethysts form in hydrothermal deposits created by geological activity under high pressure and high temperature. These conditions allow crystals to grow over millions of years. During this time, the crystal growth process is interrupted by the inclusion of minerals such as chlorite, hematite, or other trace elements. These inclusions remain visible as "phantoms" within the crystal, creating the unique layers and patterns.
