The Formation of Rainbow Amethyst from Uruguay

The story of these crystals began millions of years ago deep within the Earth. The amethyst deposits in northern Uruguay are closely associated with volcanic rocks that formed around 130 to 150 million years ago. Mineral-rich solutions were able to circulate in natural cavities within the rock; under special geological conditions, quartz crystals and amethyst formed over long periods of time.

Each heart therefore carries a small part of Earth's history within it, a history that began long before our own time.
