The rainbow effect in amethysts is caused by natural cracks and inclusions in the crystal that refract and reflect light, resulting in a dazzling play of colors. These special crystal formations, which resemble flowers, are created by the even and slow deposition of quartz layers, often influenced by temperature fluctuations and the chemical composition of the surrounding water.
