Artigas Crystal Mine, Uruguay

In May 2024, I had the opportunity to travel to Artigas, Uruguay, to visit the famous amethyst mines. This region is world-renowned for its stunning Rainbow Amethysts, unique in their variety and beauty. The trip was a special experience for me, as I had the chance to deeply immerse myself in the world of crystals and observe the miners at work.

On site, I was able to personally select the most beautiful and highest quality amethysts to bring back to Switzerland. It was impressive to see how the miners work with great care and precision. The extraction of the crystals is done ethically, with the miners being fairly compensated. Notably, they receive additional proportional rewards when they find special crystals. This promotes a fair and just working environment and ensures that the miners’ work is appreciated and honored.

Another fascinating aspect of my trip was observing the entire processing of the crystals. I saw how the raw amethysts are extracted from the mines, then cleaned, and finally carefully processed and polished. This process gives the crystals their final shine and unique beauty.

This journey allowed me to select exceptional amethysts that are special not only because of their beauty but also due to their ethical sourcing and careful processing. I am very excited to share these special crystals with you and hope they bring as much joy and fascination as they have to me.
