Artigas Uruguay

Artigas is located about eight hours by car north of the capital Montevideo, Uruguay, at the border with Brazil.
A special highlight of my journey was the viewing of the huge amethyst twins. These majestic crystals are so large that a hall had to be built especially to house them. The twins are each six meters tall and weigh 24,000 kilograms. The price for both together amounts to an impressive 1.18 million USD. These gigantic crystals are a true wonder of nature!

Equally impressive was the huge amethyst jewelry box that I also discovered in Artigas.
