Crystal Mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil
In May 2024, I had the special opportunity to visit the Tomaz Gonzaga crystal mine near Corinto in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This experience was truly unique for me. On site, I was able to carefully select my crystals – including clear quartz, citrines, and amethysts.
Minas Gerais is a region known for its rich geological treasures and long mining history. The name "Minas Gerais" literally means "general mines" and reflects the great importance of mining to the region. The gold rush began as early as the 17th century, followed by the discovery of gemstones and other minerals. Today, the region is world-renowned for the variety and quality of its crystals and gemstones.
The mining industry has strongly shaped Minas Gerais, not only economically but also culturally. The abundant mineral deposits have made the region an important center for geology and mineralogy. Today, the impressive mines of Minas Gerais attract geologists as well as collectors and gemstone enthusiasts from all over the world.
My visit to the Tomaz Gonzaga mine allowed me to see and select firsthand the impressive natural treasures of this region. Each crystal tells its own story and carries the energy of this unique place within it. It is a pleasure for me to share these precious pieces with you and to convey the beauty and uniqueness of Minas Gerais.
