Peru

In May 2024, I traveled to Peru to meet local businesses and traders specializing in the trade of minerals. I was especially interested in the diverse forms of pyrite, as it is my favourite stone.

During my journey, I visited several traders who offered an impressive selection of pyrite in various formations and sizes. Pyrite occurs in a variety of shapes, including cubes, dodecahedrons, and striking combinations with other minerals such as quartz. These unique combinations, where pyrite crystals grow alongside clear quartz crystals, create fascinating contrasts and are true wonders of nature.

Some traders invited me to visit their workshops, where I could witness the stone-working process firsthand. These personal encounters and insights into the craft made my trip especially valuable. It was fascinating to see how much care and passion goes into making the pyrite pieces.

After my return, I included the carefully selected pyrite spheres from Peru in my shop. These unique stones are now available to my customers who appreciate the beauty and quality of these special minerals.
