This impressive Lodolite crystal sphere (garden quartz) with a diameter of 10.5 cm and a weight of 1.97 kg comes from the famous quartz deposits of Brazil. It combines exceptional clarity with a fascinating inner landscape of natural inclusions and a large, radiant rainbow.

Lodolite is a special variety of rock crystal that absorbed mineral inclusions such as chlorite, feldspar, hematite, or other trace elements during its growth. These inclusions formed as the quartz developed in hydrothermal veins: hot, mineral-rich solutions circulated through fine rock fissures. During the slow cooling, silicon dioxide (SiO₂) crystallized layer by layer. If this growth process was interrupted by pressure changes or new mineral solutions, foreign minerals settled on the crystal surface. Afterwards, the quartz growth continued and permanently enclosed these particles. Over thousands to millions of years, the characteristic "garden landscapes" inside formed – three-dimensional structures reminiscent of forests, underwater worlds, or misty scenes.

The visible rainbow formation arises from very fine tension cracks or microscopic structures in the crystal, which refract the light and split it into its spectral colors. Such rainbows are considered a quality feature mineralogically and are especially sought after in clear, large spheres.
