Formation and duration of the Phantom Amethyst ⛰️
Phantom Amethysts form over millions of years in multiple growth phases. As the crystal slowly grows, natural interruptions occur – fine minerals deposit before the crystal continues to grow. These layers create the typical “phantoms”: delicate silhouettes of an earlier crystal stage, enclosed inside the crystal like a time capsule of the Earth.
This Phantom Amethyst comes from Brazil, one of the most important regions for high-clarity quartz crystals. Only a small fraction of finds show several distinct phantoms combined with rainbow reflections – a sign of absolute rarity and purity.
