This Rainbow Amethyst cutbase from Uruguay is an exceptional one-of-a-kind piece in a delicate dusty pink-purple hue that's far rarer than classic violet. The entire surface is covered in "sugary" crystallization —tiny, sparkling micro-tips that glitter like fine sugar.

The term describes a special crystal structure in which the amethyst crystallizes not just once, but twice . Countless microscopic spikes grow on an existing crystal surface, creating a velvety, sparkling appearance. This double crystallization is a rare geological phenomenon that can only occur under very stable conditions over extremely long periods of time.

The soft dusky pink-purple hue of this piece isn't treated, but pure nature. It is created when the classic violet amethyst crystals are softened by fine hematite or goethite inclusions. The result is a warm, romantic color gradient—a shade between rose and lavender, found only in a few localities, such as Artigas, Uruguay.
